DIY Mega Jenga

Meag Jenga

Every time my Fiancé would see a mega Jenga set, he would always make the comment, “Bae, we should make one.” He said that so much that I finally decided to make it for him as a Christmas gift.

Supplies & Tools

  • 6- 2x4’s (make sure the boards are straight. I had a nice guy at Home Depot help me out with this.)
  • Saw
  • Sander and sandpaper
  • Polyurethane & foam paint brushes

Directions

  • Cut 2x4’s into 10.5-inch pieces. (each 2x4 by 8 is 96 inches long so you should get 9 pieces from each board.) 54 pieces total. Side note. There weren't enough "straight" 2x4 by 8's in the store when I went, so I had to go with 2x4 by 10's. The boards are slightly higher than the 8' boards and you will have more waste. But I needed the boards that day so I went with it. I think I spent a total of $27 on the boards.
  • Sand each piece to prevent splinters and to ensure that each piece is nice and smooth. Having good sandpaper will make sanding a lot easier and faster. I did not have to buy sandpaper. I used what my dad had.
  • Apply the polyurethane to each block of wood. Or paint each block. This step is optional but I highly recommend doing it as it helps to preserve the wood. I spent about $15 on this.

That’s it. Enjoy!

Tip- if you are not using the same boards that I used, 1 block should be as long as 3 blocks wide. So basically take the wood that you will be using, lay three of them down side by side, and measure the width. This is how long each of your pieces should be. Hope this helps!
